Punkin' Pickin'!

Yup. We are those parents. The ones who are documenting every moment of their kid's life with the camera. My hope is one day he (or at least his wife) will appreciate it.

Next example: pumpkin picking. Will Jellybean remember his first Halloween? Nope. Does he care if we have pumpkins? Nada. But is it ever important that we drag him to the pumpkin patch to select the perfect pumpkins and take lots of pictures? Abso-freakin'-lutely.

Soooooo...we took our little guy to the pumpkin patch by Bergey's last weekend. We arrived before lunchtime and it was busy. We were afraid we'd be the only "those parents" out there...but we were not. There were lots of camera-laden mommies dragging their worn out toddlers down the rows of the farm as daddies braved the leaves and cut the pumpkins from the vines. And we were glad to join them. Within a few minutes of our arrival, there must have been twenty families behind us doing the exact same thing! We've also established the fact that I am dressing my kid grossly cute until he's old enough to argue, so he was (of course) wearing his sweet hand-me-down 1st Halloween outfit from an old friend.

And, since we were right next door, we went to Bergey's for lunch and ice cream. I mean, isn't it un-American to be so close without paying a visit? We're supporting the local economy and all that jazz. Besides, mama loves ice cream, and I was hoping they'd have some apple pie ice cream. (No such luck, but who ever complains about chocolate?) And, as per usual, we ran into Pastor and Mama Lou while we were there, so Jellybean got to visit with them both.

It was a perfect way to start off our fall as a newly expanded family!!!

Here are some pictures from our adventure.
We're ready to go. Just look at little man's glasses.
